

Francis W.M. Cronin, 88, formerly of Smith Hill, passed away at The St. Elizabeth Home on November 23, 2021 in East Greenwich, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha Mary “ Marty “( Burke ) Cronin.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary ( Curran ) Cronin.
Mr. Cronin served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army earning the rank of First Sergeant.
Mr. Cronin was an electrician working out of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 99.
Mr. Cronin is survived by four daughters, Danielle Thibeault, Suzette M. Lefevre and her husband Michael, Erin A. Thibeault, Seana P. San Antonio and her husband William, and his only son Denis P. Thibeault. He leaves 12 adoring grandchildren MacDara Thibeault, Martha Thibeault, Luca Lefevre, Quinn Lefevre, Elana San Antonio, Siobhan San Antonio, William San Antonio, Angelina San Antonio, Roman San Antonio, John Paul San Antonio, Madison Thibeault, Nina Thibeault and 3 nieces Maureen DeCesare, Darleen Hicks, Kathy Ashley.
Francis was predeceased by his siblings, James F. Cronin, John J. Cronin, Agnes Hicks and Mary Pironio.
Funeral will be Monday, December 6 at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Rt. 2, Exeter.
