Coventry Francis E. "Duna" Lyons, Jr., 86, of Bernard Drive, died peacefully Monday, December 2, 2013, at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston. He was the beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Deignan) Lyons. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Madeline (Chagnon) Lyons. Duna was a union representative for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 251, for many years before retiring. He and Peggy were winter residents of Vero Beach, Florida for the past twenty years, enjoying the beautiful weather and their many friends. An avid golfer, he was a charter member of Quidnessett Country Club. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WW II. In addition to his wife Peggy, he leaves a daughter, Rosemary Lyons; a son, Frank J. "Gumps" Lyons; and a granddaughter, Bethany Lyons. He was a brother of the late Joseph Lyons and Nancy North, and grandfather of the late Timothy Lyons. The funeral will be held Friday, at 7:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial, with military honors, will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Thursday, 4 - 7 pm.
