Gabriel A. Claros

Gabriel A. Claros, age 89, of Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Lourdes L. (Heredia) Claros.

Born in Bolivia, he was the son of the late Esmeragdo and Sinforosa (Alegre) Claros.

Gabriel worked for many years at the Josten Company before retiring. Previously, in his home country of Bolivia, he was a high school music teacher.

In his free time, Gabriel enjoyed playing chess with his grandchildren and solving search word puzzles. He was a soccer fanatic and enjoyed watching the World Cup. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his patience, quick wit, his inquisitive mind, and his love of sweets.

Gabriel was the loving father of Maria G. Vallee and her husband Michael of North Providence and Lizbeth A. Graham and her husband Jason of North Providence and cherished grandfather of Caitlyn, Alyssa, Ethan and Emily.

His visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM from the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
