Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Bernard F. and Bertha (Ebner) Radigan. She was also the sister of the late Esther Lepore, Bernard Radigan, Jr., and George Radigan. She worked for Providence Metallizing for many years before retiring.
Helen lived for over seventy years on the same street with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The whole neighborhood knew her simply as “Ma.” She loved dogs, having many beloved pets throughout her lifetime. She also loved playing games like Pokeno, Parcheezi, and rummy (she always got the aces). She spent her summers hosting pool parties and her winters cooking up a storm, with specialties like spaghetti and meatballs, Portuguese soup, and apple pancakes. Her family will always remember her Sunday dinners.
She was the loving mother of Helen Lantagne and her husband Henry of North Providence and George DoCanto and his wife Susan of Somerset.
She was also the cherished grandmother of Stacey Lantagne, Megan Farias and her husband Bobby, Caitlin Cabral and her husband Jeff, and Andrea Johnston and her husband Robbie. She was the great-grandmother of Jordan and Isabella Farias; Gabriella, Audrey, and Peyton Cabral; and Cameron, Corinne, and Callie Johnston. She also had many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Helen will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Presentation 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in church at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
