Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James L. Angell Sr. and Ethel (Newcomb) Angell.
James was a brother of Joseph Angell, June Pigeon, James L. Angell Jr., John L. Angell, Edward K. Angell, Jeffrey L. Angell, and Barbara Angell. He was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a cousin to Thomas Morenzi, with whom he resided and shared a close bond.
He will be remembered for his good sense of humor, fun for life, the quiet strength he carried throughout his life and the love he had for his family.
In keeping with his wishes, funeral services and burial will be private.
