

Cranston: McGrath, James F., 92, of Bateman Ave, passed away on Thursday at the Alpine Nursing Home in Coventry. He was the husband of Hope (Boyle) McGrath for 64 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James H.and Mary I. (Meegan) McGrath, he had lived in Cranston for 59 years.Jim graduated from Hope High School and was a 1941 graduate of Providence College. He was a World War II Army veteranserving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 2 in West Warwick.He was a former Railway Postal employee and retired from the Providence Postal System after 31 years of service in 1976.Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Gerald J. McGrath of Warwick and William A. McGrath of Cranston and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Mary Fogarty and Barbara Taylor.Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Mark Church, Garden City, Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery Exeter.
