James M. Mulvaney, 64, of Smithfield, formerly of Providence, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Hebert Nursing Home, in Smithfield.Born in West Hempstead, NY, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Mary T (Cotter) Mulvaney.James served his country proudly with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.He was employed as a project manager for Raytheon, in Newport for many years.James is survived by his two children, Michael J. Mulvaney and Christopher C. Mulvaney; and a brother, Richard G. Mulvaney, of Newtown Square, PA. He was pre deceased by his brother, Charles Mulvaney.His funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 8:15 - 9:15 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence.
