Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Muriel M. (Deshaies) Garrity and the late John F. Garrity Jr.; loving mother of Julie A. (D’Amico) Zaccagnini, Jayson J. D’Amico and his significant other Tiffany K. Morris, Jerry V. D’Amico and his wife Melissa; grandmother of Lauren A. D’Amico, Jerry V. D’Amico Jr., Jaime N. D’Amico and Jordan A. Fugere; and sister of Diane M. Caito.
Jean was a graduate of North Providence High School, cosmetology school and had worked as a hair stylist for many years. She worked alongside her husband for 30 years as the bookkeeper for their business Jerry’s Texaco located in North Providence. Later in life she was employed by Citizen’s Bank for five years before working for Paradies at TF Green Airport for three years.
Jean was extremely devoted to her family and cherished spending time with them. It was known to all that she adored her husband. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, the arts, classic films and was an avid reader. Jean was passionate about old time rock ’n’ roll and all things music. Live performances always got her on her feet and dancing.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Thursday at 8 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by graveside burial in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joseph Andruzzi Foundation at www.joeandruzzifoundation.org.
