

Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Anna M. (Lombardo) Guerra and the late John C. Guerra of North Providence.
He was the brother of Susan M. Rossi and her husband, Thomas, who reside in Tucson, Arizona and Narragansett, RI. He leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his two roommates and best buddies Chris and Orlando and his many friends at Gateways to Change.
He was a graduate of Pilgrim High School.
Johnny was an excellent drummer with a great ear for music. In addition to his music, he was skilled in ceramics and other art related activities. His favorite foods were lobster and most items on a Chinese menu. Also, Johnny loved his iced coffee as it was always a huge part of his daily life. He was very well known and loved. He made friends wherever he went and was lovingly nicknamed the “Mayor”.
Johnny’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his staff family at Gateways to Change especially to Darleen Gomes who Johnny called the “Love of his life”, Sam Tassia, Lynn Munroe, Dennis O’Keefe, Ronnie Archenbault and many others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, April 10th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:15 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. The burial will be private.
