PawtucketJohn W. Wellhausen, 56, of Park View Drive, died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Providence. He was the Beloved husband of Patricia L. (Black) Wellhausen. Born in the Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Walter and Beatrice M. (Stursberg) Wellhausen. He was a steel worker for Ocean State Steel Company for many years. John served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. An avid New York Yankee fan, he also had a fondness for animals. Beside his wife, he leaves three daughters, Kimberly A.Herbert of Wilmington, Deleware, Kristen Black and Karissa Wellhausen, both of Pawtucket; a brother, Arthur Wellhausen of Long Island, New York; three sisters, Elizabeth Chieffo of Staten Island, New York, Evelyn Wellhausen of Oldsmar, Florida, and Ann McQuade, also of Staten Island; three grandsons, Justyn, William, and Andrew; and three life-long friends, Leroy Vieira, John Simoneau, and Eddie Fortin. The funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, at 10:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle& Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday evening, 6 - 8 pm.
