
Joseph J. Correia, Jr., 72, of Kipling Street, passed away on November 6, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the loving husband of Caroline (Silva) Correia for 53 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph Correia, Sr. and Beatrice (Greene) Manuel and stepson of the late James Manuel. Joseph was a veteran of the Air Force and a retired polisher for Imperial Delta. He was a member of Holy Name Church, an avid fisherman, sports fan, and enjoyed exercising. He also loved reading the newspaper while drinking his morning coffee every day. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69 and affiliated with Breezy Point Marina for 25 years. He had an impeccable memory and a great sense of humor. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Besides his wife Caroline, he was the proud father of Joseph Correia, III of Providence, Kevin A. Correia and Gary A. Correia both of Atlanta, GA, and Courtney Marcus Correia of Cranston. He was a devoted grandfather and leaves 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph "Jojo" Correia, and Donald Pope, both of Providence. He was also the brother of the late Helen Correia. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 7:30am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00am in The Lady Chapel of the Holy Name Church, 99 Camp St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
