Born in Providence, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mildred K. (McCaffrey) Finegan.
Joseph served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a Deaner with the Office of the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner.
Joseph is survived by two daughters, Anne M. Finegan and Mary E. McDonough, four sons, Robert F., Paul M., David J., and Timothy B. Finegan, two sisters, Jane Hugo and Karen Kieser, ten grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Joseph E. “Jef” Finegan and brother of the late William Finegan.
Visitation Friday morning, from 8 -9:15 am, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
