Joseph A. Geremia

Geremia, Joseph A., 81, of Foster Center Rd, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at RI Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ellen M. (Minnehan) Geremia.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Rose (Hogan) Geremia.Before retirement, Mr. Geremia was employed with Gorham Manufacturing Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He also worked at the former Plainfield Greyhound Park, as a security officer.He was the co-founder and charter member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of RI, a former member of the Bay State German Shepherd Dog Club, and former member of the Providence county Kennel Club. He was the co-breeder of Grand Victrix Champion Valtara's Image.Joseph was also a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church.He was the father of James A. Geremia of Lunenburg, MA, Glen J. Geremia of CT and Dean V. Geremia of Foster, RI. He was the grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 5. He was the brother of the late John and Angelo Geremia.Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am in St. Paul the Apostle Church, 116 Danielson Pike (Rt. 6) Foster.
