Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert and Esther (Hammond) Pennacchia.
Joe was an entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he enjoyed landscaping for Central Nursery, driving for Allen and Reed and operating his own jewelry company. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He was the father of Joseph L. Pennacchia, Jr., Michael Pennacchia and his wife Jennifer, Angela Pennacchia and her husband Ben Washington, Jessica Pennacchia and Shalina Pennacchia. He was also a grandfather of 11 and brother of 8.
His visitation and funeral will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 8:30 AM from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.
