Josephine was a longtime resident of Providence before moving to Greenville.
She was the wife of Richard A. Imondi to whom she was married for 67 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late David and Mary Markarian.
Josephine was the devoted mother of Raymond Imondi and his wife Cathy, Wendy Imondi, Michael Imondi (PPD/FOP) and his wife Wendy, and the late Steven Imondi; loving mother-in-law of Mary Imondi; cherished grandmother of Anna, Michael, Ashley, Joseph and Alexia; great-grandmother of Hunter, Brooke and Kinsley. She was the sister of the late Lucy, Roxie, Margaret, Anna, Sarah, Markar and Harry.
Josephine was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic minister for St. Philip Church for over 30 years, where she was also a member of the ladies’ guild. She was a member of the Providence Democratic Committee for Ward 12 for 25 years. She had also worked for the Providence School Dept. for several years and volunteered her time at various nursing homes.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 21st at 8:45 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will be held Friday 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Providence Animal Rescue League “PARL”, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903.
