

Dr. Laszlo Leb passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 93 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara Silvia Leb, his daughter and her husband, Ellen/Ilana and Udo Benz, and his grandchildren, Nadia and Noach Benz.
At the time of his death, he was a resident of Laurelmead - an independent coop - in Providence, RI, where he lived since 2020. Previously, he lived together with his family in Worcester, MA for 45 years. He was a clinical professor of medicine at UMASS Medical School and the head of the division of hematology at St Vincent's hospital. He was loved by his family, respected by his colleagues and greatly appreciated by his patients for his kindness and devotion. He was a loving and caring husband and a dedicated father/grandfather.
Throughout his lengthy career, he was the recipient of several awards including best teacher of the year, best researcher of the year, and best physician of the year from St. Vincent’s Hospital.
In addition to his profession, he had many other interests such as playing chess, participating in book clubs, traveling and exploring new places and countries, and physical fitness. He was a
member of the Worcester Medical Society and the Massachusetts Medical Society. He was a longtime member of Congregation Beth Israel in Worcester, MA.
A Funeral Service was held on April 21, 2026 at Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel in Providence. Burial was in Lincoln Park Cemetery in Warwick.
