Lawrence "Larry" Frank Basara

Lawrence F. "Larry" Basara, 65, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Roxy J. (Longo) Basara. They were married for 20 years.Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Erwinski) Basara and the brother of the late Daniel Basara.He served his country proudly with the United States Navy for many years, retiring in April 2002. Besides his loving wife, he leaves his uncle, Edward Sobczyk; a cousin, Barbara Shields, and her husband, Dave; Sister's in Law, Beverly Pari, and her husband, Anthony, Donna Longo, and her husband, Steve; Brother in Law, Joe Longo, and his wife, Nikki; his dear friends, Gerry and Pauline Silvia, and Tom and Cathy O' Halloran; and 9 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. Larry enjoyed going to classic car shows with his dear friends Jerome and Debbie.He was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by many.Larry's funeral will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 9:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, in Saint Catherine Church, 3252 Post Road, Warwick. Interment with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 5-8pm.
