Linda A. Ferland, 66, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, May 19, 2012. She was the wife of the late Henry Ferland, Sr.Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Helen "Mae" Hudson, she lived in Johnston most of her life.Mrs. Ferland was a dispatcher for Arrow Cab and Checker Cab Company, before retiring due to illness.She was the beloved mother of Patricia A. Ferland - McHugh and her husband Scott R. McHugh, (Retired Battalion Chief, Johnston Fire Department), Michael E. Ferland, both of Johnston, and Henry Ferland, Jr., of North Providence; loving grandmother of Dawn M. D'Alessandro - Geyer, and her husband, Jesse Geyer, and great grandmother of Kyle D'Alessandro and Jesse Geyer, Jr., of Johnston, and sister of Richard C. Hudson, of Providence. She also leaves several aunts and uncles, as well as her longtime family friend, John Carvalho.The funeral will be held on Thursday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours Wednesday, 5 -8 pm.
