

Louise was born July 7th, 1939 to George and Margaret Gilmore in Providence, Rhode Island. She was a school bus driver in south Providence for a short time and also, worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Rhode Island Hospital and Kent Hospital, working the night shift so she could be home for the children after school. After an auto accident ended her nursing career, she started anew at the University of Rhode Island working as a secretary to put her children through college. While working at the University, she attended classes and graduated with a degree in Gerontology. Her final career was as a social worker at the Department of Children Youth and Families where she gained joy in helping the children.
On September 17, 1955, she married Thomas Edward Hynes. After Thomas died on Nov 3, 1973, she raised her 3 teenage children.
Louise’s hobbies included knitting, ceramics, and golf which she played up to the end. Louise loved being a grandmother and attended all their milestone events, soccer games and birthdays.
She was preceded in death by her seven elder siblings, George Gilmore, Charles Gilmore, Robert Gilmore, Francis Gilmore, Margaret (Gilmore) Roberts, Rita (Gilmore) Hancock, and Luke Gilmore.
She leaves 3 children, Gail L. Hynes of East Greenwich, Thomas E. Hynes Jr. of Narragansett, and Timothy A. Hynes of Richmond; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A private family service will be held on Friday October 21st.
