M. Catherine Sullivan

M. Catherine Sullivan (Keenan), 93, of Warwick, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Greenwood Center. She was the wife of the late Francis X. Sullivan. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Monica R. (Monaghan) Keenan. Cathie was a secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for many years before retiring. She was a graduate of Hope High School and a graduate of Bryant College. Cathie served her country proudly in the United States Navy, Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, (WAVES) from 1944 through 1947, earning the rank if Yeoman 1st Class. She leaves three daughters, Ellen S. Goldis, Michaela M. Sullivan and Moira C. Epps; a son, Mark J. “Jerry” Sullivan; and five loving grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas F. Sullivan, and two sisters, Margaret Conley and Helen Greenwood. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday evening, 5:00 – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cornerstone Adult Services, 140 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889 in her memory will be appreciated.
