

PROVIDENCE - COLLINS, Madeline G., 88, beloved wife of Harry A. Collins of Providence died Wednesday after a long illness.She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Murray) Fox. Madeline is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marie A. and Robert P. Catauro, by her grandchildren Andrew R. and Patricia M. Catauro, and by her sisters Rita McDonnell and Sr. M. Quentin Fox, O.P. She was the sister of the late Marguerite Fox, Mary Baker, and Regina Fitzgerald. A lifelong resident of Providence, Madeline attended St. Patrick's School and was a member of its high school's first graduating class in 1936. She was employed by the State of Rhode Island in various positions for 43 years, most recently as Personnel Supervisor in the former Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services.She was a daily communicant of St. Augustine Church and a member of its Rosary and Altar Society Honor Guard. Madeline was a founding member of the Mt. Pleasant Senior Citizens and a member of the RI Retired State Employees Association. Her funeral will be Monday at 9am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Visitation Sunday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, her family requests that Masses be offered in her memory.
