Margaret Mary McCormick

McCormick, Margaret Mary, 77, of Holiday Court, South Kingstown, died peacefully Sunday at South County Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Thomas A. McCormick, Sr. Born in East Providence, a daughter of the late John B. & Mildred E. (Morrissey) Rogers, she lived in Washington Park section of Providence for forty years before moving to Wakefield five years ago. Mrs. McCormick was a Quality Controller for Elmwood Sensors of Pawtucket for twenty years retiring in 1993. After her retirement, she worked in the South Kingstown School Department Lunch Program. She was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Wakefield, and a former communicant of the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul, Providence. Margaret graduated from Saint Mary's Academy Bay View in 1948. Margaret celebrated her fifty second wedding anniversary in January of this year. She was a sponsor for many years for the Christian Children's Fund. She was a strong advocate for the Right to Life. Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Thomas A. McCormick and his wife Michele C. of Richmond, RI, John B. McCormick and his wife Tracy A. of East Providence, RI and Stephen G. McCormick of Rockville, MD: three daughters, Maureen M. and Allen W. Williams, Rosemarie A. and Thomas Hogan both of Wakefield., RI, Kathleen A. McCormick-Holmander and Keith Holmander of West Kingstown, RI: three sisters, Helen R. Lake of Warwick, RI, Patricia Baribault of Venice, FL, and Annmarie Hoxie of East Greenwich, RI: a brother, John B. Rogers of Barrington, RI: fifteen grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She was the mother of the late Timothy F. McCormick and Paul M. McCormick, and sister of the late Thomas J. Rogers. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4-8 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 142 Centerville Road (RT 117) Warwick, RI. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday at 10:00 am in Saint Francis of Assisi Church 114 High Street, Wakefield, RI. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.
