Born in Providence she was the daughter of Loretta (Hilson) Luke and the late Clarence M. Luke; mother of Richard A. Luke and Todd M. Evans, Sr. and Meredith Luke; grandmother of Gabriel Antonio Luke and Todd Michael Evans, Jr.; sister of Kathleen Fiore, Ethel Fargnoli, Richard R. Luke, with whom she made her home, and the late Patricia Easton.
Marie worked for the Providence Head Start as a child abuse prevention specialist and was a health aide for 21 years. She also worked as a waitress in the former Luke's restaurant for 9 years. Before she took ill, Marie loved to go camping and boating and also loved to sew.
Visitation and funeral will be held Tuesday 10-11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Entombment will follow in Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
