

Marilyn Ruth (Bourgeois) Maggio, 84, passed away on November 6, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Filippo Amadeo Maggio.Born in Boston, on February 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ruth (Mitchell) Bourgeois.Marilyn had been employed by the City of Providence for many years, both as a crossing guard and as a meter maid. She retired from A.T. Cross. She enjoyed playing music and loved to sing. She would never turn down a trip to the casino and loved life. Marilyn is survived by a son, Philip Maggio and his wife Lorry; her grandchildren, Paul Maggio, Kara Chianesi, Gary George and Angela George; her great grandchildren, Isabella George, Brayden Maggio-Seaton, and Gianna Chianesi; a brother, Arthur Bourgeois, and her sisters, Jo-Ann Reilly, and Nancy Perna. Marilyn was the mother of the late Sharon George, grandmother of the late Michael George, and sister of the late Louis and James Bourgeois. Calling hours Thursday, 5 - 8 PM, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Funeral Friday at 8:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, at the corner of Regent and Academy Avenues in Providence. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
