Markus “Mark” Cornelius Weber-Stroebele of Providence, Rhode Island passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 12th, 2023 at the age of 60, after a prolonged health battle. Mark was born on November 12th, 1963 to Kurt Weber and Margrit Rose Bickelmann in Highland Park, Michigan.
He graduated from Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School in 1981 and went on to graduate from the University of Michigan with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He interned with General Motors Hydramatic in Strasbourg, France. Upon graduation he worked in Chicago, Illinois for Bosch Automotive. His career continued at Factory Five Racing in Wareham, Massachusetts, and later he became an independent technical marketing consultant based in Providence.
On September 4, 2005 he married the love of his life, Susan Hook Weber. They were married for 18 wonderful years and were blessed with two beautiful children, Lucie Joanne and Hugo Bruce. Mark was a dedicated father and husband and will be greatly missed in the community where he was active in the church, scouts, and school volunteering. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping, and traveling with his family.
Mark was predeceased by his father Kurt Weber and stepfather Peter Carl Bickelmann. Mark is survived by his wife Susan, his children Lucie and Hugo, his mother Margrit Rose Bickelmann, his brother Christopher Bickelmann and sister Stephanie Bickelmann Koretz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Providence Presbyterian Church, 500 Hope Street, Providence, at 10 am Saturday, December 16th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memory to the Providence Presbyterian Church or the RI Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907.
