She was the loving wife of John Del Ricci with whom she was married for 40 years until his passing in 1989.
Born in Cranston, Mary was a daughter of the late Alessandro and Philomena (Petrarca) Matano.
She lived most of her life in North Providence and was a member of Ocean State Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. Mary retired from AT Cross after many years of service. She also worked as a professional house and office cleaner and was a dedicated homemaker, wife and Mom. Mary’s kindness and sweet spirit will be missed by all those who were privileged to know her. To know Mary was to love her and she was known for stylish outfits, love for her family, her church, many enduring friendships,
good food, coffee, exercise and fitness. Her work ethic was unparalleled, her resilience was off the charts and she had a certain "cuteness" about her that made everyone smile. To say she will be missed by many is an understatement.
Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter in law, John and Jan Del Ricci of North Providence; two sisters Rose Orlando and her husband Eugene and Gloria Santilli as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 5 brothers, Anthony, John, James, Alfred and Leonard Matano and two sisters, Theresa Morra and Madelyn Picard.
Mary’s Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 in Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI. Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 am until the hour of service. Burial will be private
