Milton V. Javery, born June 28, 1948, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed on January 14, 2026. A longtime resident of Jamestown, RI, Milt shared his life with his wife, Dean Collins, and spent his years devoted to music and creative pursuits.
Milt was a jazz guitarist and vocalist, building a lifelong career performing with numerous bands throughout the region. When he was young, he spent time at Berklee School of Music and later taught guitar lessons, sharing his knowledge and skill with others. He took pride in being a Jamestown volunteer fireman and enjoyed painting as a hobby. He was an avid fisherman and a “foodie” who loved to cook.
Milt is survived by his son, Milton V. Javery, and his granddaughters Carson and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind stepchildren. He is further survived by his brothers Allan Javery, Michael Javery, and Kenneth Javery; his sisters Jane Chin and Karen Giggetts; as well as his nieces and nephews and other extended family members. He leaves many close, longtime friends.
Milt will be remembered for his musicianship and his dedication to his craft.
