Patricia A. O'Donnell

SeekonkPatricia A. (Callahan) O'Donnell, 61, of Cherry Hill Drive, died Monday at home. She was the beloved wife of Michael B. O'Donnell. They were married for 32 years. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late William A. and Pauline (Drapala) Callahan, she lived in Pawtucket most of her life before moving to Seekonk twenty years ago. Pat was a teacher for the Pawtucket School Department for thirty years, assigned to Goff Junior High School for fifteen years, Shea High School for ten years, and William E. Tolman High School for five years, retiring in 2000. Pat then worked for educational websites in the Boston area for two years, and then was involved in adult education in the Rhode Island area for four years. In 2006, she was appointed Director of Education at the George N. Hunt Campus School at Saint Mary's Home for Children, in North Providence. She was a 1969 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and earned her Masters of Education Degree from Framingham State College in 2001. Pat was a communicant, and lector, at Saint Mary Church, Seekonk, and a member of the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance. She enjoyed spending time at her family summer home in Little Compton, reading, going to the beach, and walking her dogs. Beside her husband Michael, she leaves a son, Ryan T. O'Donnell; two brothers, William E. Callahan, M.D., and John J. Callahan; and several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Paul F. Callahan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, at 10:00 am, in Saint Mary Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, Massachusetts, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Thursday, 4 - 8 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
