

CranstonPatricia (Rourke) McCrystal Thompson, 87, died on March 25TH at Tockwotton on the Waterfront after a long illness. Born in Providence on March 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Healey) Rourke. Wholly educated by the Madams of the Convent of the Sacred Heart at Elmhurst Academy in Providence, Pat graduated in 1948. She worked at Gladdings Department Store for many years. In addition, Pat was a state employee working as a case worker in the Food Stamp Program until her retirement in 1989.Pat was the wife of the late Charles Willis Thompson and the late Robert Francis McCrystal. She is survived by her son, Robert Rourke McCrystal of Sharon, Mass., her daughter, Patricia McCrystal Ward (Paul) of Exeter; loving grandmother to Caroline Grace Ward of San Francisco and Georgia Lees Ward of Coventry.Patsy, as she was affectionately known to her siblings, is survived by Michaela Burke, Anthony J. Rourke, Margaret (Dodie) Burke, John Rourke and Mary Jo Reilly and the late Sheila Killian-Grimes and Rosemary Franz, many nieces and nephews and dear friend, Judith Grimes.Pat will always be remembered for her sense of humor, beautiful smile and her bright, blue eyes which sparkled even in her last days.Pat's children wish to acknowledge the loving staff of Scandinavian Assisted Living, of Cranston which provided unparalleled care during the majority of her illness. Her funeral and visitation will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Paul Church, 30 Warwick Avenue, Cranston at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
