

JohnstonMorris, Peter F., 71, of Rowena Drive, died peacefully Wednesday after an eight month illness. He was the beloved husband of Arlene M. (Kelly) Morris. They had been married for forty-four years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Michael J. and Mary C. (McGarry) Morris, he had lived in Johnston for forty years, previously living in Providence. Pete was a union plumber for thirty three years, retiring in 1998. He was an active member of the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local 51, and served on the Union Negotiating Committee. He also taught at the Union Apprentice Training Program. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. Beside his wife, he leaves two daughters; Karen A. Boscio, and her husband Peter, of Smithfield, Maureen E. Sciacca and her husband Anthony, of Cranston, two sons; Michael J. Morris and his wife Kasha, of East Hampton, Connecticut, and Peter F. Morris, Jr. of North Providence, two sisters; Mary Shaughnessy and Ann Farragher, both of County Mayo, Ireland, and seven grandchildren; Jenna, Michael and Nicholas Boscio, Erica and Victoria Sciacca and Kaitlyn and Ryan Morris. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 9:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday, 5 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 in his memory will be appreciated.
