
Raymond J. Angell, Jr., 84, of Cranston, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie E. (Garberg) Angell.Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raymond J. Angell, Sr. and Dorothy E. (Cornell) Angell. Ray was a baggage master for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad for twenty five years before retiring. Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and even though his wife Marie passed away eleven years ago, he still considered himself married and would have celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary this October. He remained devoted to Marie even after her death. Ray was a longtime communicant of Saint Matthew Church. He leaves a son, Raymond J. Angell, III Esq., and his wife Melody of Coventry; two daughters, Marie Angell Habershaw, R.N., and her husband Thomas of Cranston, and Elizabeth Angell, M.S.W., with whom he lived, also of Cranston; a sister, Dorothy H. Savard; six loving grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. He was a brother of the late Joan B. Angell. He also leaves his beloved dog, Grizz.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, at 11:00 am, in Saint Matthew Church, Elmwood Avenue, Cranston, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN, 38105 in her memory will be appreciated.
