Rebecca was born in Providence to Rita Smith (née Alves) and Benjamin Smith. Besides her parents, she leaves behind a daughter, Marcelina Ariana Smith, 20, of Providence, older brother John J. Smith of Providence, younger brother Manuel A. Smith of Dresher, Pennsylvania, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was also expecting her first grandchild in early 2016. Rebecca was a vivacious woman with a lot of fight in her. She was a wonderful mother, and her daughter's best friend. She loved yoga, art, music, dance and theater. She had a very eclectic taste and loved mismatched & salvaged furnishings. She will be greatly missed by many.
