Richard “Dick Domane” DiDomenico, age 80, passed away February 10, 2022. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Adelchi and Ida (Patalano) DiDomenico; beloved husband of 60 years to Elaine D. (Bongiovanni) DiDomenico; loving father of Jeffrey A. DiDomenico and his wife Kelli, Marni D. McGrath and her husband Shawn, and the late Richard “Ricky” DiDomenico; brother of Louise Catalano and Norma Soave; and cherished grandfather of Erica DiDomenico, Jake DiDomenico, Noah DiDomenico, Morgan McGrath, and Nathan McGrath.
Richard’s first love was performing, starting as early as age 5 on WJAR’s Kiddie Radio Review. He was highly creative and continued in music as a singer and songwriter, making a living with music for much of his life. He was the frontman for the band Dick Domane and the Blue Jays. He owned popular music venues with his band including the Light House in Old Orchard Beach, Maine and the Spectrum in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Richard and his wife were also business owners, operating Elaine’s C & C Jewelry for 17 years. After that, he worked for Penta Realty, followed by H & R Block.
Richard’s true love was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He coached little league and youth basketball in North Providence. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s sports and activities. Everyone would look for the well-dressed grandfather with the stylish hat in the stands. He will be greatly missed by many.
