

Born in the Smith Hill neighborhood of Providence in the fall of 1947, Richard was the son of the late Daniel J. and Dorothy I. (MacLean) McWilliams.
Richard served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was honorably discharged after six years of service. He was employed by Amtrak for many years before his retirement. He was also employed as a bartender at several establishments in his beloved Smith Hill neighborhood and the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, Richard is survived by a son, Peter Rathbun, his daughters, Kristen Andoscia, Keri-Lyne McWilliams, he was also father to the late David Andoscia who passed away in 2013. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gregory Ethier Jr. and his wife Jillian, Richard Andoscia, Samuel McWilliams, Natalia McWilliams, Tyri Donald, and his great grandson, Gabriel Ethier.
Richard was the brother of the late Dorothy Sullivan, Patricia Carvalho, Edith Whitworth, Daniel McWilliams, Jr., and Vincent McWilliams.
Visitation Tuesday April 12th from 4 – 7 PM, with a service to begin at 5:30 pm in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St. Providence. Funeral Wednesday at 10 am followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
