Richard J. Silvia, 61, of North Providence, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He was the former husband of the late Cheryl (Fallone) Silvia.Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Alfred and Joan I. (Lynch) Silvia.Rick worked with his father Alfred as a painting contractor for over 20 years. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox sports teams.He leaves his two daughters, Stacy L. Evans and Wendy M. Silvia, both of North Providence; a sister, Christine M. Tanner, of Smithfield; and his five loving grandchildren, Michael Proulx, Tyler Proulx, Brittany Smith, Samantha Smith, and Sabrina Smith. Richard was also the brother of the late Donna J. Peck.Richard's funeral will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 9:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Interment will be in North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence.
