

Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Ella (Rose) Zambarano and had been the husband of Pauline (Bouchard) Zambarano for 56 years.
He was the father of Richard J. Zambarano Jr. and his wife Debra, Mark R. Zambarano and his wife Kristen; grandfather of 5 and 1 great-granddaughter; brother of Raymond Zambarano, Madeline Fagan and the late Ella Pastore, Dorothy Brooks, Louise Usler, Lawrence Zambarano and Rosemarie Rotondo.
Mr. Zambarano had been a truck driver for 30 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 251. He then worked as custodian for the North Providence High School and was the former president of the North Providence Educational Workers Local 2435. He had served in the U.S. National Guard during the Korean War and was commander and lifelong member of the Lymansville V.F.W. Post 10011.
Visitation will be held Monday, 5-8 p.m. with funeral services on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
