

West Warwick: Crowley, Robert M., Sr., 64, died on Monday evening at Kent Hospital surrounded by his beloved family. Bob, a veteran of the US Army, served during the Vietnam War(1966-1967) with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment Blackhorse Division, where he was awarded the Purple Heart medal.He was a son of the late John and Margaret (O'Shea) Crowley, He grew up in the Smith Hill section of Providence and has been a resident of West Warwick for over 30 years. He retired from the Providence Gas Company in 2002 after 35 years of service.He is survived by Kathleen (Del Padre) Crowley, his loving wife of 39 years; his son Robert Jr. and his wife Tina (Brown) of Coventry; his son Ryan of San Francisco, California and his daughter Erin Feeley and her husband Kevin of Coventry. He leaves three precious grandchildren and the joys of his life, Abigail ("Abby") and John ("Jack") Feeley and Grace Crowley. In addition he is survived by his brother John and wife Mary of Cranston, his fours sisters, Geraldine Crowley of Cranston, Mary Canole and her husband Michael also of Cranston, Kathleen Hemingway of Greenville, and Patricia Izzi and her husband John of Warwick; eight nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Soco. Bibsy, also leaves behind his best friend (and second brother) of 57 years, James Diggins of Providence.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:00 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 13th from 4-8 pm.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care of VNA New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886, in Robert's name.
