Robert T. McGovern

WarwickMcGovern, Robert T. "Bobby", 52, of Masthead Drive, died unexpectedly Monday at home. Born and raised in the Elmhurst section of Providence, he was a son of Joseph J. McGovern Sr. and Mildred (Lally) McGovern, both of Narragansett. Bob lived in Warwick for the past twenty years, and spent his summers in Narragansett. Bobby was a sales and marketing coordinator for Jostens, a well-known ring manufacturing company, for the past twenty-seven years. He was a 1973 graduate of La Salle Academy, and a 1977 graduate of the University of Rhode Island. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, of South County, and a communicant of Saint Gregory the Great Church, where he also coached the parish girls softball team for several years. Beside his parents, he leaves his cherished daughter, Meaghan P. McGovern, his former wife, Kimberly A. (Hodgdon) McGovern, both of Warwick, two brothers, Joseph J. (Maryellen) McGovern, Jr. and Donald J. McGovern, both of Narragansett, and two nieces, Kathryn and Jennifer McGovern. The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday, 3 - 7 pm.
