Born in Providence he was the son of the late Wilbur Lee and Lillian Jenne ( Cantone ) Phillips.
Robert had been a Printer for Autotrader for many years and was currently working as a Landscaper for We Do Landscaping.
Robert leaves behind 3 children, Robert L. Simas, Jr., of Pascoag, Nehemiah Marfil of Florida, Saralyn Simas of Providence, his siblings, Kevin L. Phillips of North Providence, Lee F. Phillips of Providence, Nicola B. Barone-Casandra of Providence, Virginia M. Phillips of Pawtucket, Donna J. Greene and her husband Kenneth of Warwick, Christine H. Dionne of Johnston, Wendy L. Phillips of Pawtucket and many nieces and nephews.
He was step-son of the late Nicola Barone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday August 28, 2020 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday, August 28 from 9:00-10:00 am in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
