Robert Elton Stevens, Ret. P.P.D., 69, passed away peacefully at the Providence Veterans Medical Center, on October 19, 2017. Born in Providence, on January 13, 1948, he was the son of Mildred (Still) Stevens and the late Elton Stevens. Robert was a Providence Police Officer, retiring in 1988. As a proud member of the US Army, Roberts completed two tours in Viet Nam and was a member of 101st Airborne Division. He is survived by a son, Robert Stevens, his daughters, Kellie Henson and Courtney Stevens, and seven grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Lauren, Gabriel, Alexander, Robert Jr. and Kory. A visitation will be held on Sunday, 5 - 8 pm, in the Boyle Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Funeral Monday at 9 am, followed by a funeral home service at 10 am. Burial at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
