

Thomas J. Quartino, 81, of Hoffman Avenue, Cranston, passed away July 25, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Acquaro) Quartino, and the devoted husband of Marie (DeMarco) Quartino for 56 years.
Tommy was a decorated Korean War Veteran. Following the war, he received an Associate’s Degree from Johnson and Wales, a certificate from Worcester Polytech and was employed by Providence Gas and ITT Grinnell, from which he retired. Tommy was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in the D.A.V. department for 15 years and was a member of the Korean War Veterans Chapter #2, D.A.V. Chapter #21 and American Legion Post #1.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Cindy Quartino and a son, Stephen Quartino and his wife, Lisa. He also leaves a grandson, Luca Quartino, a brother, Joseph Quartino and sisters, Ann Marie Torregrossa and Barbara Paolino. He also leaves nieces, nephews and many dear friends, including Heather Dolan and all of the kind nurses at the Veterans Hospital and practitioners at Beacon Hospice.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. with funeral services on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston, followed by burial with Military Honors in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
