Vincent J. Carcieri, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Diane M. (Romano) Carcieri. and the son of the late Vincent and Yolanda (Santoro) Carcieri.
Born in Providence, RI, Vinny was raised in the vibrant Italian-American community of Federal Hill. In his youth, he was a proud altar boy and delivered newspapers on his neighborhood paper route. Vinny’s strong work ethic and Catholic faith remained steadfast throughout his life. His love of music and dancing grew throughout his youth as did lasting friendships from his early years.
He married his life-long love, Diane in 1973 and they enjoyed a lifetime of happy moments together. Vinny and Diane shared a love of the ocean and spent their Summers on Matunuck Beach. They both loved traditional Italian food, often cooking together and hosting family holidays. Vinny was a devoted husband and father. He was a wonderful ‘girl dad’, coaching his daughters’ many sports teams. Vinny was always first on the dance floor at Father/Daughter dances and at Christine and Carla’s weddings. He wholeheartedly embraced his son-in-laws into the family and loved talking to them about the latest sports event. Vinny adored being a Papa to A.J. and Christian, always laughing with "his boys”. He was a proud Uncle and loved nothing more than being surrounded by his nieces and nephews.
Vinny pursued engineering before beginning a long tenure as butcher and Meat Manager at Almacs. His passion for creating a celebration centered around food and gathering led to his work in the restaurant industry. An appreciation for antiques guided him to open a consignment business before retiring. Vinny was also active in his church community, volunteering for Feast preparation. He loved helping others and was there to lend a hand without exception. Vinny had a green thumb and created beautiful gardens in both the North Providence and Lincoln family homes. Anyone who met Vinny made a lifelong friend who was always invited to share a meal or sample his signature pickled eggplant. He will be remembered for his love of life and always putting family and friends first.
He was the devoted father of Christine Labbe and her husband Mark and Carla Soave and her husband Albert and cherished grandfather of Christian V. and A.J. He was also the brother of Louise A. Calitri, Josephine Mondo, Kenneth Carcieri, and the late Maria Jutras, Richard and Robert Carcieri.
