

WEST WARWICK - FLYNN, William E., 87, passed away Sunday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mary B. (Gregory) Flynn. Born in the Apponaug section of Warwick, a son of the late William E. Flynn and Cora Flynn-Smith (Bennett), he was a life-long resident of Warwick before moving to West Warwick several years ago. He was employed as a textile printer at Duro Finishing Company for 25 years before retiring in 1982. After retiring he worked as a consultant for the United States Supply Company in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was a member of the Machine Printers and Engravers Association of the United States and held the offices of District Director, Secretary Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Board. Mr. Flynn was a United States Army Air Force veteran of World War II. For three years he served in the South Pacific with the 339th Fighter Squadron and was the recipient of several medals including the Legion of Merit.Besides his beloved wife of 62 years he leaves his children, Patricia A. LeTellier and her husband Donald of Dudley, MA, and Elizabeth A. Flynn of West Warwick, with whom he lived; a sister, Doris Hitt of Anaheim, CA; his grandchildren, Michelle Szczepanski and Michael LeTellier, both of Dudley, MA; two great-granddaughters, Nicole and Kayla Szczepanski, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert and John Flynn. His wake and funeral will be held on WEDNESDAY at 8AM from the RUSSELL J. BOYLE & SON Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Route 117), Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saints Rose and Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Rose of Lima School, 200 Brentwood Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886 in William's memory would be deeply appreciated.
