

Alice H. Vivoda, age 82 passed away on February 7, 2026 in Colorado Springs, CO. Survived by daughters Stana (Bob) Anderson, Vicky Vivoda, and Valerie (Manny) Ortega, granddaughter, Samantha Ortega, brothers, Charlie Dorrance, Jimmy (Doddie) Martinez, brother-in-law Mark (Ethel) Vivoda, numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. Predeceased by husband, Richard Vivoda, parents, Sam & Alice Dorrance, brothers, Thomas (Edie) Dorrance, Johnny (Amabelle) Martinez, sisters-in-law Judy Dorrance & Sharon O’Malley, and grandson, Mitchell Ortega. She was a 1961 East High School graduate. Her fondest high school memory was being the drummer in the marching band. Alice & Rich married on Feb. 9, 1963. In 1970 after the births of their 3 daughters, she began working for the Department of Social Services. Over the years, she worked her way up to administration and was responsible for overseeing several divisions. She was Lead Volunteer Field Director & player for the annual DSS Co-ed Softball Tournaments which raised money for the underprivileged children of Pueblo County for a decade. She retired from Pueblo County DSS in 1997. Alice was an avid softball player throughout her life. One of her greatest joys was playing co-ed with husband Rich & also with all 3 daughters on the same team. She received most valuable player as a pitcher at the Walsenburg Invitational Tournament at the age of 50. Alice enjoyed playing piano, fishing, camping, golfing, traveling, and watching family at sporting events. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow into adulthood. Alice was kind, caring, and generous. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, grandma, and friend. Alice was also an animal lover and adored her cats and dogs. She always had a kind word to provide, a contagious smile, and loved to be around people. Alice was so accepting that she never met a stranger!
