Benjamin J. Montez Jr, born September 4, 1949, passed away March 3, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife Betty Montez, Son Benjamin John Montez III.; daughter Genelle Deleriva; step daughters Cyndi (Jim) Bailey, Barbara (Jeremy) Higgs and Mary (Demetri) Calime; godson Shane Almeda Jr. and numerous grandchildren. Ben was preceded in death by his nephew Jason Romero; stepson Tito Almeda Jr; his sister Rosina Montez Sanchez and his dogs “Princess” and “King”. He was a loving husband, a great father and a wonderful grandpa. Ben was a combat veteran during Vietnam serving in the 101st Airborne Division. The family would like to thank the staff at Minnequa Medicenter for the wonderful care they gave him. At his request there will be no viewing.
