Carmella was born on July 15, 1935, to Pete and Ella (Vujcich) Pisciotta. On September 7, 1957, she married the love of her life, Frank Jordan Jr., with whom she shared 67 beautiful years. Together they raised three children and were blessed with five grandchildren and, most recently, welcomed their first great-grandchild, lovingly named in her honor.
Carmella was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lovingly cared for her family, worked as a homemaker and daycare provider, and later began a long career with the State of Colorado at the Employment office, in the Unemployment Department, retiring in the early 1990s as a Supervisor.
Her life was defined by compassion, service, and creativity. Carmella was an active member of Dream Weavers of Southern Colorado, devoting countless hours to their annual bowl-a-thon to help grant wishes for terminally ill children. She loved crocheting, sewing, and crafting, often showcasing and selling her handmade items at local craft fairs.
A woman of strong faith, Carmella was a dedicated parishioner at the Shrine of St. Therese, regularly attending Mass with Frank and actively participating in parish life. She was a member of the Colorado Catholic Women’s Association (CCWA) and served as the Shrine’s historian. Known for her exceptional cooking and baking, she chaired the Shrine’s bake sales, helped prepare for the annual St. Joseph’s Table, and supported church spaghetti dinners. In 2017, she was honored as one of the Pueblo City-County Library District’s Outstanding Women by the Shrine’s Council of Catholic Women.
Carmella and Frank shared a love for travel, visiting all 50 U.S. states, as well as Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, and several cruise destinations. She was also active in the Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, supporting Frank in many of his endeavors.
Carmella is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Jordan Jr., and their children: Larry (Joan) Jordan, Gary (Peggy) Jordan, and Debbie (Adam) Schindler; grandchildren: Adam (Alysha) Jordan, Dalton (Caitlin) Jordan, Anna (Trent) Snarich, Broc Schindler, Josh (Kelcie) Martin, and Jimmy Martin; and great-granddaughter Carmella Snarich, and great-grandson’s Hank and Butch Martin.
She is also survived by her sister Pat (John) Klomp, sisters-in-law Marilou Pisciotta and Dorothy Spencer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Ella Pisciotta, Step-mother Marjorie Pisciotta; in-laws Frank Sr. and Gertrude Jordan; brother Joe Pisciotta; brother- and sister-in-law Donald and Judy Jordan; brother-in-law Bert Spencer; and cherished grandson Austin Schindler.
