Clyde Raymond “Ray” Ready passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 27, 2026, at the age of 87—just shy of his 88th birthday. He slipped away quietly in his sleep at his beloved home in Pueblo, Colorado, surrounded by the comfort of the life he had built there with his wife of 67 years, Ida Mae Ready.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Ida Mae; their four children, Colleen Bravo (Mark), Laina Pearson (Ray), Daina Cox (Jim), and Bob Ready (Margie); 9 cherished grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Elwood Ready (Onna), and his sister, Toni Marie Griffen (Jerald). His family feels deeply grateful for the privilege of sharing a close, loving relationship with Ray all the way until the very end.
Ray was born on April 24, 1938, in Florence, Colorado, and made Pueblo his home for 55 years. He enjoyed a long career with UPS and FedEx before retiring, but his greatest fulfillment came from his deep commitment to family and faith. Amongst the many of his hobbies, he enjoyed elk hunting the most. A longtime, active member of Pueblo Christian Center, Ray served with a willing heart in many roles—most memorably driving the church bus for children’s programs, youth group outings, and mission trips to Mexico. Through these acts of service, he touched countless lives and built lasting friendships and strong community connections that remained with him throughout his life.
Ray will be remembered for his quiet strength, his steady presence, and the way he showed love through everyday faithfulness—whether behind the wheel of that church bus or simply being there for his growing family. His gentle spirit and unwavering dedication left a beautiful legacy that continues in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
