

Our much loved Darryl Dakan passed away peacefully in his home on February 9th 2024 at the age of 62 from complications of esophageal cancer which he was battling for several months. He was born in Colorado Springs on April 20th 1961 and spent his childhood in Huntington Beach, California. Darryl lived throughout Southern California for 30 years before returning to the state he loved; Colorado in the summer of 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Marie Dakan, brother Paul Dakan, Nino Charlie Herrera, and Aunt Barb Roybal.
He is survived by his soulmate Toni Ramirez, Nina Grace Herrera, and sister Diana Dakan-Williams. He leaves behind his Godchildren Journey Montez and Justus Montez. Step-children, Jon King, Wade King, Anthony Ramirez and Candida Diaz (Vincent Diaz) as well as 10 grandchildren, Haylee Ramirez, Andynn Ramirez, Gabriel Montoya, and Rosalie Diaz and 6 King grandchildren. In addition to numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends who Darryl deeply loved.
Colorado and California instilled his lifelong passion for the outdoors. You could find Darryl camping, fishing and dirt bike riding when he wasn’t working on trailers.
The funeral will be held at St. Paul Apostle Church in Pueblo West, on March 22, 2024 at 11:00 am. It would be appreciated to see family and friends in attendance.
