Dave managed Bessemer Auto Parts for 20 years while running his own business, Kouba's Custom Carpentry. He was affiliated with Lake Avenue Baptist Church. He had many hobbies including woodworking, building cars, fishing, coaching youth hockey, and pit crewing the family drag race team. He was a family man and a professional nickname giver.
His Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Anne, two sons, Matt (Heather) and Mitch (Kari) and five cherished grandchildren, Dawsen, Casher, Lillian, Redding and Mattie, two sisters, Diana (Bernie, deceased) Churchill and Nancy (Ken) Horn, two brothers-in-law, Larry (Jimmy) Heid, and Dennis (Lisa) Heid, several extended family members and lifelong friends Richard and Diane Ratliff.
For those wishing to do so, donations may be made in Dave's name to Lake Avenue Baptist Church or Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care.
Memorial Service on Monday, May 1st, 2017, at 2:00 pm, at Lake Avenue Baptist Church (1345 Lake Avenue, Pueblo). Reception immediately to follow at the Eagles Steel City Aerie (704 Elmhurst Place, Pueblo).
