

Donald Elliott Staruh Sr. entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2014. He was born January 26, 1930 in Pueblo, Colorado to Michael and Elizabeth Staruh. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Darlene; sons, Michael (Cory), Donald Jr., Steven; sister, Alice Sullivan and in-laws James Pohlmeier, Robert (Donna) Pohlmeier, Joan Javornik; numerous nieces and nephews; godchild, Judi (Guy) Hegerberg and very special family friend, Judy Pusedu. Don worked for the Pueblo Transportation Co. for 37 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred; sisters, Mary (Deward) Modglin, Anna (John) Stubler; mother and father-in-law Mary and Alvin Pohlmeier and brothers-in-law David Pohlmeier and Frank Javornik. Don enjoyed taking his sons fishing and camping in South Fork, he was also an avid auto racing enthusiast and owned his own Stock Car which he enjoyed racing at The Pueblo Speedway. His family loved and enjoyed his charismatic sense of humor and they will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Vialpando, Debbie and Jen, as well as, the entire staff at Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care and support for Don.
